What we’re looking for?

Your fundamental responsibility is to engage new leads, nurture relationships, and bring new potential clients into the top of our sales funnel. This is an incredibly important role, as SDR’s are the engine room of our sales organisation and ensure the success of Account Executives.
Ideal candidates for the Sales Development Representative role will be comfortable in a high-speed, entrepreneurial environment. Smart Sparrow is a fast growing company that rewards execution, results, lateral thinking and creativity. Things will never get boring! As an emerging company, qualified candidates will need the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, where things are often ambiguous. A passion for education, online learning and making the world smarter is a plus!

As a Sales Development Representative at Smart Sparrow you will

  • Generate new business opportunities, primarily from outbound lead generation activity

  • Create and maintain accurate records for all activity in our CRM (Zoho)

  • Use a mixture of outreach methods including emails, cold calls, and social media

  • Work closely with other members of the sales team to qualify opportunities and pass over to Account Executives

  • Understand our offerings and effectively communicate their value to prospects

  • Work with sales and marketing to develop and drive lead generation campaigns

  • Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly quotas and objectives

  • Proven track record of generating new business opportunities and achieving targets

  • Experience working/selling enterprise software and SaaS

  • A good listener who can assess customer needs efficiently and effectively

  • Experience with CRM systems

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Personable over email, phone, video calls, and in-person

  • Comfortable in outbound prospecting and working with a high volume of activities per day

  • Hunter mentality, proactive and self-motivated

  • Team player who is fun, energetic and coachable

  • Self-aware, able to analyze and learn from results to drive best-practices

  • Genuine interest in a ed-tech sales career

  • Able to work flexible hours to service both Australia/New Zealand and the United States


Nice To Haves
